Flea Market Find

My son and I were flea marketing and found this toy zither. I loved the graphics on the box. It looks like it may be from the sixties. Okay, I get the son, mom, and grandpa all excited about playing with the new zither toy, but what's up with the guy in the Asian costume and the disinterested looking ship captain?

This one is titled "Approaching Storm"

This one is titled "After the Rain"

More on this Nautical Theme...

The following two illustrations are from a book I completed a while back for Scholastic Books.

I absolutely LOVE drawing crabs. (you may have noticed)

These were a little bit different, but I think they would make a nice fabric print.

And finally, some boats.

Moku Hagu

While reading about the printing process known as Moku Hagu on the web, I found this image that I am wild about. I love everything about it, the color, the layout, the attitude and character, and the process. It was done by an artist by the name of Lynita Shimizu. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
