Hands in Art

I was working on an illustration for a commission this week with a hand theme... it got me interested in how hands have been featured in art. As I searched the web I came up with some surprising imagery. Here are a few that I particularly enjoyed looking at:


This was a tutorial for kid's art projects posted by Jan Hilmer. There is a hand camoflouged in the painting.



Here is a painting by one of my favorite contemporary artists, Deborah Putnoi.




This image is a photo taken at Horshoe Canyon in Utah. I found this great site that posted this image, The Bradshaw Foundation. They produce anthropological and archaelogical documentaries. Definitely worth checking out.
