Last year was my 25th wedding anniversary . We were trying to come up with something really special to do but couldn't find just the right thing. Then we received a phone call from our son. Okay, so I need to give you a little back story here. When my son was 11 turning 12 (ten years ago) he auditioned to be on the first every Kid's Jeopardy Show. In fact he was in the very first show and was the first kid to walk on stage. Yes, it was incredibly exciting and worth a blog post of its own, but I must not get too distracted here.
So, he got a call that the producers of the show were interested in a reunion show and would he be interested. All but one of the original group said yes (and the one that said no couldn't get away from a med school commitment). They taped the show last summer - right around our 25th wedding anniversary. Hey, a trip to LA to watch the taping sounded like a great anniversary celebration. I didn't post about it last year out of respect for my son's privacy, but now it is old news and a great story! So the first ever Kid's Week Reunion was taped and aired last fall. And to add to the excitement, he won his round and is now a Jeopardy Champion. Winds up it was Jeopardy's 25th Anniversary also - which is why they hatched the idea for a special reunion show. Stay tuned in ten years, they may just do it again.

Well, we will have a much quieter anniversary celebration this year, but I must say - I am married to the smartest, sweetest, most incredible guy - and I really can't believe it has been this long. I love this photo of us, circa somewhere around 1985. He looks so retro, in a "Magnum PI moustached" way. I am just a girl who likes to draw and put designs on cloth, and as lucky as I feel every day when I go to work, I am far luckier to have married my best friend and been a mom to one of the coolest kids I know.
Thanks for checking in and sharing my little corner of the world.
xoxo

Happy anniversary! What a cool story. I just finished reading Brainiac by Ken Jennings so I've got Jeopardy on the brain. Smarts must run in your genes!
This is so nice to read - Happy Belated Anniversary! We celebrated our 15th in June, and like you, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! Life is good. (can't believe I missed this post the first time around...I think we were still out west.)
