All profits from sales in my Etsy shop through October and November will go to benefit a close friend/neighbor who lost her house in the flood last week.

Drying Out

Well sorta... it is still raining here in Atlanta but we did have a few sunny days to dry out from the floods. I have lived in my house for thirteen years and never saw the water from the lake across the street from my house reach the road. But after many days of rain and one incredible downpour we had flash floods all over the city. Our area was very hard hit - here are some pics.

The lake covering my fence and the road, the lake and my front yard are one. Yes, and I actually saw fish swimming in my front yard!

This is what happens after five solid days of rain in my neighborhood - mushroom soup. I took all of these photos this evening on a walk around the hood. Can you believe the diversity? Mushrooms that look like buttons, scrambled eggs, and magic rocks!
