The Customer

It's easy to lose sight of who is buying something you might have worked on when involved in the creative process. It should really be the most important consideration when designing and illustrating. I love this photo that was on the We Heart Books blog. It is a sweet reminder of what happens to your work after you finish and move on.

Help Is Here For Wanna Be Fabric Designers

Rock star  and personal favorite fabric designer Lizzy House (of Red Letter Day, Lizzy Dish, and upcoming Castle Peeps fame) has written an e-book all about the how to's of fabric design. The book, "How to Enter the World of Textile Design" is for sale here. She demystifies the process in a clear and stylish presentation. It even includes a forward by moi. You simply must check it out.  It is a must read if you are a wannabe fabric designer. If you just love fabrics, beautiful photos, and are curious about the business of fabric design, it will not disappoint.

Winner

It seems like the three most asked for fabrics were the birds on cream, the owls on white, and the cats on pink.  The winner of this contest is Mamaspark who won a yard of the owls on white. Congratulations! Thanks to everyone who entered, I wish I had enough fabric to send something to all of you, but I do promise more give aways in the future.
