How Did You Get This Number?
I am so excited to share the news of Sloane Crosley's new book, "How Did You Get This Number?", now available for pre order and due to be released in June. Sloane is the author of the bestselling "I Was Told There'd Be Cake". You may remember me blogging about her a couple of years ago - or better put, bragging about her - because she soared onto the NY Times Best Seller list then and I think she is destined for equal heights with her new book. She is already garnering high praise from the likes of David Sedaris and being recommended for one of the summer's best reads by the Today Show. And I love bragging about all of this because she's my cousin and outside of her obvious talents, a really nice and down to earth person. You can follow her book signing schedule on Twitter or Facebook.

My Mismatched Pillowcases
Sewed these pillowcases last night using On A Whim 2 fabrics (photographed with a Pooki & Co. dog). I love the mismatchy-matchyness of the pillowcases.

Brooklyn and Beyond
This was one of my favorite trips to NY. Surtex was fun as always and it was great to catch up with friends. I spent most of my time in Brooklyn (my birthplace!) and honestly haven't been back in years, so it was wonderful to see it in full bloom on a long sunny weekend.

A Bad Case of Baby Fever
Q. How to you treat a fever?
A. Plenty of fluids, bed rest and call the doctor if it doesn't go down.

Afternoon Sewing Project
I pieced together some leftover fabrics from other projects, some really great vintage fruit fabric that I picked up at a flea market, and my Spoonflower beet fabric to make this potholder - it is a little wonky and lopsided, but that's how I like it :))
